Anh Barna
Páll-GerGely, nghiên cứu sinh ở Khoa Sinh học, trường Đại học Shinshu, Nhật Bản,
đã ghi nhận một giống Ốc cạn
Laotia Saurin, 1953 cho khu hệ động vật Việt Nam, đồng thời
mô tả một loài mới cho khoa học.
Loài Ốc
cạn Christa Laotia christahemmenaen mô tả từ mẫu
vật thu được ở Vườn Quốc Gia Ba Vì, Hà Nội, có sự sai khác với
loài L. pahiensis Saurin, 1953 (mô tả ở Lào) ở
các đặc điểm: có kích thước gần gấp đôi (chiều cao vỏ: 2,6mm; đường kính vỏ:
4,4mm); vỏ có các rãnh, và có vùng trơn nhẵn ngay sau miệng.
Hiện nay,
giống Laotia Saurin, 1953 mới chỉ ghi nhận được
2 loài: L.
pahiensis và L. christahemmenaen. Tuy
nhiên, vị trí phân loại của giống Laotia vẫn
chưa được xác định rõ ràng, liệu thuộc về
họ Diplommatinidae hay
họ Alycaeidae. Và cần phải có các nghiên cứu bổ sung để làm
rõ vị trí phân loai của giống này.

Abstract. This paper
reports the second species of the
genus Laotia Saurin,
1953. L. pahiensis Saurin, 1953 was described
from Laos, Pa Hia, whereas the new species, L.
christahemmenae n. sp. was collected in Ha
Noi Province, Vietnam, approximately 350 km NE of the type localty
of the Laotian species. The new species is
approximately twice larger than its congener, and has a ribbed shell with a
smooth area behind its aperture. In contrast, L.
pahiensis is ribbed until the peristome or the ribbing stops
very close to the peristome. It is uncertain
if Laotia should be placed
in Diplommatinidae or
in Alycaeidae.
