Một loài Hoàng tinh đặc hữu của dãy Trường Sơn vừa được mô tả và công bố mới cho khoa học với tên: Polygonatum annamense

Việc mô tả loài mới này dựa trên các mẫu vật được lưu ở phòng tiêu bản mẫu thực vật, các dữ liệu sinh học phân tử và mẫu cây trồng.

Loài Hoàng tinh Polygonatum annamense phân bố ở miền nam Việt Nam, mà chủ yếu ở khu vực cao nguyên Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng.

Bài báo khoa học này được công bố trên tạp chí Phytotaxa (197-2: 125-131). Trong đó, nó cũng được so sánh và chỉ ra những đặc điểm khác nhau của các loài gần gũi như P. punctatum, P. mengtzense, P. punctatum, và P. urceolatum

A new Polygonatum (Asparagaceae) endemic to the Trường Sơn of southern Vietnam

Abstract

A new species of Polygonatum, P. annamense based on evidence from herbarium studies, molecular data, and cultivated material is described and illustrated from upper elevations of the southern Annamite ecoregion where it occurs disjunctly in both the Central Highlands and the Đà Lạt Plateau, Vietnam. It is compared to the morphologically similar P. punctatum with which it has been confused, and its relationship to P. mengtzense, P. punctatum, and P. urceolatum is discussed.
